The 6th Annual Children’s Leukemia Foundation Dinner Invades Wings Stadium
“A Continued Tradition”
(Kalamazoo, Mi) – Race For Kids Sake, Inc. is proud to announce the 6th Annual Children’s Leukemia Foundation dinner will again return to Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo. The CLF Dinner will take place on Thursday night August 14th, 2008 with Happy Hour starting at 6pm. 2008 marks the 4th consecutive year that the dinner will be at the Wings Stadium Complex.
The CLF Dinner has been the corner stone event of Race For Kids Sake since it all began six years ago in Marcellus, Mi where the first ever dinner was held at Melville’s II. The second dinner was held at the Club Car Restaurant in Alamo, Mi to a standing room only crowd. The 3rd Annual CLF Dinner was moved to Wings Stadium in 2005 where it has been ever since.
“Wings Stadium stepped up to the plate 4 years ago when we needed a bigger place to support the rapid pace that the dinner had been growing,” says Andy Jach, RFKS President, “Wings Stadium has been a great marketing partner and has stayed true to their word about saying that they would get behind this event for the long haul.”
Race For Kids Sake has kept its eyes on the struggling Michigan economy and high gas prices and has made some must needed changes. The tickets for this years CLF Dinner will be reduced $20 per adult and $10 for Children 4-10 years of age, with 3 and under admitted free. Also with every Adult ticket purchased you will receive $5 worth of raffle tickets and each Childs ticket will include an entry for the big wheel giveaway. On tap for this years dinner menu will be BBQ chicken breasts, hamburgers, hotdogs, green beans and more. This year’s menu was made a little bit more kid friendly to attract more families. The meal will be served by the RKFS celebrity wait staff.
This year, Race For Kids Sake has tapped into several different race tracks for servers. With the Kalamazoo Speedway and Galesburg Speedway drivers returning as guest servers for the evening, RFKS would like to welcome the M-40 Speedway and Butler Speedway Drivers as well. A few of the drivers who have already volunteered for this event are: Scott Cunningham, Courtney Weston, Mike “Bubba” Brooks, Phil Bozell, Jim Delarye, Matt Frazier, “Tennessee” Paul Roberts, Adam Van Avery, Cory Bevard, John “Torch” Osterhouse, and Ottis Jennings. There will be many more!
Also the return of the “Motor Mania” sumo wrestling matches will return back to headline this years entertainment by popular demand. The 5th annual Dylan Cup will be back in action with all new events and different format. This year’s musical act will be the Basement Dawgs and they will be playing during happy hour. The world famous Race For Kids Sake raffle will be back with bigger and better prizes. The live auction will be back with lots of cool new items including an autographed 8”x10” Curtis Granderson picture from the Detroit Tigers headlining the items so far.
